Content: 

Types of dynamic problems. D'Alembert's principle, Equations of motion, degrees of freedom. SDOF systems -free and forced vibrations, support motion, vibration isolation, transmissibility, Duhamel's integral and its numericalevaluation. MDOF systems - Free vibrations, natural modes, orthogonality conditions, shear frame, matrix iterationfor eigenvalues and eigenvectors, forced vibrations, mode superposition method, damping in MDOF systems.Vibrations of beams with different end conditions. Principles of earthquake resistant design, response spectrum andequivalent force concepts, Introduction to design code IS 1893.
